Volunteer Roles with NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Dive Meet Set Up - Home Meet
Before the meet, we need volunteers to set up the team tents, the tables for table workers, chairs for judges, setting up the sound system (very easy), and rearranging chairs on the pool deck and grass for diving board visibility. For away meets, we need volunteers to bring the team tents.
Dive Meet Take Down - Home meet
After the meet, we need volunteers to put the team tents away, along with the tables used for table workers, putting away the sound system, and putting the chairs back on the grass from the pool deck. For away meets, we need volunteers to bring the team tents back to MW.
Table Worker - 3 needed per home meet, 2 per away meet
Get the best seats in the house! Come sit poolside and help collate judges scores and prepare ribbons for our divers. Training provided day-of meet. Work the first or second half of the meet. For home meets MCDL requires us to have a minimum of 3 table workers and for away meets we are required to provide 2 table workers.
Announcer - Home Meet
This position requires announcing the diver names, dives, and scores (this is provided for you). Work the first or the second half of the meet. Announce kids on deck, dives, order of dives, start and end meet. Be familiar with table of dives
Tent Transport - away meet
Take Manor Woods tents to the away meets and back to Manor Woods at the end of the meet
Volunteer Roles requiring EXPERIENCE or CERTIFICATION
Judge - 3 needed per home meet, 2 per away meet
Beginning in 2025, MCDL will be using this video as the basis for its training. See the How to Become an MCDL Official guide. You will be required to complete this short video course before attending a live training for initial certification. The video is a great introduction to the elements of diving and judging. Watching it ahead of time will allow the in-person training courses to focus on demo divers and question & answers.Certification-required position - that means you attend a judges training clinic (certification is valid for 3 years). Judge dives and provide scores for meet results. Work for the first or second half of the meet. For home meets MCDL requires us to have a minimum of 3 judges and for away meets we are required to provide 2 judges.

Referee - home meet
Certified position manages the judges, leads the 'run of show' for the meet, and makes final calls on diver disqualifications and other official meet business. Work for the first or second half of the meet (or the whole meet!).

Work with dive reps to order and pickup the end-of-season trophies and shammy's for our athletes.
Ice Cream Social Coordinator - Jeff and Sarah Chapman
Coordinate purchases for ice cream, toppings, and supplies, deliver to end of season Ice Cream Social at the pool.
Ribbon Printer - Zoe Vallabha
Print stickers for ribbons at meets.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help us round up folks to be sure our meets are possible. Ensures that all families have signed up for the minimum requirement of 2 volunteer opportunities - communicate reminders to volunteers (Sign-ups online already created.)
Coaches Appreciation
Help us show our team appreciation by coordinating age groups to bring snacks and/or drink to head and assistant coaches during practice - randomly throughout the season (about once a week). Pick up end of season coaches gifts (will be reimbursed)
Bulletin Board Manager
Help make our bulletin board at the pool welcoming and informative to include dive records and meet results.
