Dive All Stars 2026
Dear All Star Dive Fans and Families,
All Stars starts tomorrow! This is a long one, but contains most of the info you will need!
Volunteers
All Stars is run by the league and the host pool, but we still need volunteers for the following:
- A family to bring a square MW tent to and from the pool each day
- Snack/ drink donations, bearing in mind that we have some granola bars leftover from Divisionals and some fruit; on Wednesday, there will be seven divers and their families + coaches; Thursday we have three divers + families and coaches
I have put signup options for these in the team calendar.
T-shirts
Fine Designs, the t-shirt vendor, will be on-site both days. (Jolyn will also be on-site on Thursday.) The Manor Woods swim & dive team will cover the cost of a meet shirt for each diver, up to $27. Chances are high that the t-shirt or sweatshirt that your diver wants will cost more than this. Keep a receipt and send it to our treasurer, Trisha Armstrong [email protected], and she will reimburse $27; any amount you spend over that is your own responsibility.
Schedule & Warmups
We do not have a specific schedule yet, but I will share it when it arrives. For general reference, here is the the schedule from last year.
Warm-ups begin each day at approximately 2:00 pm, with the meet starting at 3:00 pm. We expect both days to conclude by 7:45 pm.
We have divers in every event on Wednesday and every event except the second on Thursday. No one is required to stay for the whole meet, but teammates are encouraged to cheer for each other as much as possible.
All Star open warmups (2-2:45 each day) can get nuts. There will be as many as 20 divers in some of the events, and with six events on Wednesday, that’s 100 divers who may be wanting to use the boards at open warmups. If your child is competing in the first event of the day (8 & under and 13-14s), I might suggest skipping open warmups and arriving for event warmups (2:45 for girls; first event warmups for boys will be at approximately 3:30 on Wednesday).
Judging & scoring
All Star judging is harsh. That can sting if you/ your child is not expecting it. The judges aren't volunteer parents from the teams! If your child is used to getting 6s or 7s on a good dive, they might receive 4s or 5s for the same dive at All Stars. In 2024, Henry scored more than 100 points for three dives at a couple of Sunday dual meets. At All Stars, he placed 2nd with a score of 67 points.
Suits
The league asks that divers wear only the suits of their MCDL team or a suit without another team/league/club logo or label.
Pool location and parking
As a reminder, the meet is being held at the Flower Valley Bath & Racquet Club, 4520 Flower Valley Drive, Rockville 20853.
There is parking on both sides of the pool. Please respect all parking signs and check in at the desk when you arrive. Street parking on the pool side of Flower Valley Drive is also available. Please do not block driveways or park in the cul-de-sacs.
Concessions
The concession stand will be open during the meet, offering snacks, grilled items and refreshments. The concession stand takes cash and electronic payments.
Pool Use
The pool will be open for visitor use during the meet. There is an adult swim during the last 15 minutes of every hours.
Rain/Storm Delay
In the (unlikely) event that there is thunder, FVBRC pool rules state that patrons must shelter under the pavilion or in their car. No one is allowed to remain on the pool deck. The standard delay is 30 minutes for thunder.
Please reply to this email or reach out to Kendra Pasquill ([email protected]) or Kyra Kissam ([email protected]) at FVBRC with any questions.
Go Manor Woods!
