    upcoming trainings

Hello dive parents! The season is around the corner and we have a really small team this year. Please know that we need everyone's help at all meets. This email applies for all officials training, certified, expired, or new trainees. If you are not a trained judge, referee, or table worker please consider getting certified so the work doesn't fall on the same shoulders every week. All parents want to enjoy watching their kids dive and not have to work for the whole meet, please share the responsibility! If you have multiple kiddos diving or are a veteran dive parent and are not yet trained, we need you!

MCDL has implemented a new management and self-service website for officials. You can access this site via:

https://officials.mcdiving.org/ or from: mcdiving.org, then navigate to the portals menu and select "Officials".
Once you have gone to: https://officials.mcdiving.org/ you will be prompted with a login screen:
    - If you have been an official in the last three years or are a Team Rep for 2026, you already have an account. Please select "forgot your password" and recover your account. The email used is the email you use for team communication for yourself.
-If you are a parent who hasn't been an official previously, please select " Sign up".
Once you have created or recovered your account, training and certification are a self-service process. You can see your certification status, get help with certification, and register for MCDL Training.
The training process for becoming or recertifying as a JUDGE is still the same as last year: a two-step process.
    1. Complete the NFHS online training prior to attending an in-person training by doing the following
    • Navigate to www.nfhslearn.com and create a free account
    • Once logged in to your account, select “Officials” along the top vertical menu entitled, “Courses For”
    • Scroll down to locate the course entitled, “Judging Springboard Diving”. While hovering over the course, a “Start Learning” button will appear. Click on that “Start Learning” button.
    • When you are ready to take the course, from your dashboard select “My Courses” and click on “Start Course”, “Continue Course” or “Complete Course”. This selection
depends on how much of the course you have completed.
    • When you have completed the course, download your certificate. This can be found on your dashboard under “My Certificates”.
    • Send your certificate to MCDL via the https://officials.mcdiving.org/ portal. Use the "Upload Training Certificate" button.
    2. Attend an MCDL Judge in-person training
    • You can register for a training session via https://officials.mcdiving.org/
    • Dates for pool-side judge training are listed in this email below.
    • The online training must be completed prior to attending the MCDL pool-side training.
    • This training will focus on analyzing live diving and MCDL specific rules and will
      typically last 90 minutes.
Training must be repeated every three years to keep your certification active.

To be certified to be a REFEREE for an MCDL summer dive meet you must:

    1. Be a certified MCDL Judge who has judged MCDL meets for one year
    2. Attend an MCDL Referee recertification training online or in-person
    3. Repeat this process every three years to keep your certification active.
